This is probably the reason many people prefer something like the Classic or Metal Machine to the SDX libraries. This is probably true with every other VST except for maybe EZ drummer of BFD eco which are ready to go and don't require any mixing. In fact out of the box any superior library sounds and behaves pretty bad IMO. Haven't tried it though.Īlso one thing to add, superior won't sound and trigger any good unless you know how to set it up and especially tweak it to behave and sound the way you want. I couldn't get the hi hat to trigger anywhere near superior but that was BFD2 and from what I've heard BFD2.3 has improved a lot both in machine gunning and hi hat triggering. I've tried BFD2 and the problem for me is the machine gunning. I don't like any hi hats from any other library in comparison. Hi hats are superiors strength and I really like how the hi hats from metal foundry play. PeterWhen it comes to the snare, superior sucks for e drums because of the rim shot problem. I am thinking about selling all my Toontrack software because BFD plays more like a real drumkit. I just loaded that kit in BFD 2 and it plays very well. Eco is great and I am surprised more people are not aware that you can get an Evil drums eco kit for $50 with incedible sound quality.
